Here’s what people are saying about their Carroll Goalie School experience:

Steve Carroll and his assistants did a first rate job during the 2011 Fall Preseason Camp. The camp's 3:1 student to teacher ratio and the well- organized large- group and multiple work station drills helped get the most out of the six hours of ice time over the weekend. The camp included an emphasis on skating and crease movement.

Goaltenders worked on c-cuts, T- pushes/glides shuffling, full and half-butterfly saves and recovery, glove, blocker and stick saves, positioning, handling deflections and more. The camp provided a strong foundation for the upcoming season. My son had fun, and we hope to be back next year.

My son had the full equipment on for the first time at your skills clinic. When he went out on the ice for the first time, I thought that I had made a huge mistake by supporting his desire to pursue goaltending.

By the end of the third session, I was excited for him. He was moving like a goaltender and was very excited to keep on working towards becoming a goalie.

I thought the children all worked hard and ended each session with smiles. My son wants to wear his Carroll goalie school tee shirt to school on the first day.

Thank you very much for putting on such a great goalie clinic. My son, Pacey, has been to a couple of different camps and he said this was his favorite by far.

I would also have to agree with him just from what I could see from the stands. Your entire staff maintained a very positive attitude and the constant encouragement that they gave the kids drove them to work harder.  I really liked the sticks tapping on the ice for encouragement as well. No matter what the skill level was of each goalie, every coach worked very well with the different skill levels and broke things down so they could understand it.

Also, by having the coach in pads to demonstrate certain drills or techniques really helped out a lot too. You could see certain things "clicking" once the kids saw how things were supposed to be done.

Also, the drills that you had the kids do were excellent. The hand-eye coordination drills were outstanding. My son HATES shuffling, but the way your staff presented it in various drills actually made him enjoy it!

Lastly, being a National Guardsman and part of Defending the Blue, your generous contributions to our servicemen and women speaks volumes about your character.  Your generosity is greatly appreciated and it warms my heart to know that there are people out there who really care about all of our military families.

By having organizations such as yours to donate your time to helping our kids develop their "mad skills", as my son would say, speaks volumes.  I can't even begin to express my gratitude.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your time and dedication to helping our kids develop into the future stars of one of the greatest games on earth.

The experience with your summer goalie camp was one that our son totally enjoyed. Your staff made all the skills fun to learn and even helped out the kids individually to be successful.  We would recommend this goalie camp to anyone who wants to learn and have fun.

First of all, thank you for a great school, and thank you for taking a look at my son’s equipment for me.

After day two of your camp my son said to me (and this was not solicited by me),  "...dad, I love this school, it's the perfect amount of work, not too much, not too little."

When I asked for some feedback after the camp was over, he said it's the best goalie school he has been to, and that he would like to do it every year before the season. He said he really like the challenging drills, like the diminished visibility with the white puck, and the strings.

Thanks so much for the great instruction my 9-year old goalie received from the Carroll goalie school this summer. I have seen a marked improvement in his performance at the start of the season already.

The coaching staff did a first class job of teaching the fundamentals so my son so he could enjoy the game and increase his abilities.  Even more special to me, as a military parent, is the fact that the Carroll Goalie School has supported local military families who have hockey-playing kids. It is great to see them giving back to the community and demonstrating that they are not only great instructors, but great people too!

Thanks again CGS!

A well organized, challenging and fun weekend of goalie training!  Thanks so much to you and the other coaches for your time, energy and patience in working with these kids.  We saw noticeable improvement in our son, Dylan's, skills over the course of the weekend. Also, I thought it was fun to watch the kids get to know each other and work together.  Dylan made some new friends and will look forward to seeing some of them again during the hockey season or at future camps.

Keep up the good work!  We will be back for more Carroll goalie training!

Very efficient use of time – intensive ice time. Some very clever drills that we had never seen before – and some completely new teachings that brought “aha” moments! Positive, motivating + fun instructors!

Steve and his coaching staff have an extraordinary ability to relate to our young athletes. His team's ability to focus on the true fundamentals of the goalie position while making that training a fun and educational experience for our players is invaluable to any program. We have been fortunate to have them as a resource to our program! They are a great fit for any program looking to establish or polish their existing goalie development program.

From the first time Steve Carroll worked with my goalies, I was sold on him. His knowledge of the game of hockey, and more importantly the goaltending position, is second to none. Steve has the gift of knowing what to teach and how to teach.

He also has the great gift of being able to work with all ages of kids extremely well. Every goalie that I have had train under Steve has improved exceptionally, many achieving very high levels of play. This is because Steve does not lose sight of the basic and fundamental skills of the position he is coaching.

This past season, Steve did the greatest goaltending coaching I have ever been a part of. When you see one of Steve's goalies take one of the State's best teams to three overtimes by himself and almost beat them, while facing incredible odds, you become a bigger fan of what Steve does.

Most Importantly, the kids love working with Steve!

I want to thank you for the work you and your coaches did with my daughter who was in your advanced session. It was just the type of workout she needed to help push her to a new level. The drills were challenging but effective and I could see noticeable improvement in her game by Sunday. She has already asked us if she come back again, and I said definitely yes!

The Carroll Goalie School provided my daughter with the fundamental goaltending skills that will serve as a springboard for any future success she might enjoy in the sport – and she had so much fun at camp, she did not even realize how much she was learning. The teaching methods were innovative and the staff was professional. I would highly recommend this goalie school.

Steve and his coaches do an excellent job of connecting with the kids. They know a lot about the goalie position and are eager to share their knowledge and passion for the position with all participants. My son can’t wait to go back.

Steve Carroll’s resume speaks for itself. To be a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award in an era goalies weren’t looked at too much, and his Hall of Fame awards at Mankato (Minnesota State) State and Edina High School are noteworthy. His being a former KARE 11 Sportscaster aids in his ability to communicate and relate with the kids, and that is a plus – in helping the kids understand not just what to do, but as to why.

We have attended a number of Steve Carroll Goalie Schools and will keep coming back. The variety of drills and progression of the sessions – they keep them moving, and the commitment, energy and positive attitude of the coaching staff makes this a great learning environment and has built a sense of pride and confidence in our son.
