Coaching Staff

The talented and dedicated staff of experienced goalie coaches make the Carroll Goalie School special!

Our coaching staff features three former stand-out goalies. All have extensive knowledge of the position and work exceptionally well with participants in a personable, professional and positive manner.

Our coaches do an excellent job of explaining, demonstrating, and reinforcing the proper techniques used by today’s successful goalies.

The Carroll Goalie School coaches include:

Steve Carroll Coaching experience - One of Minnesota’s top goalie instructors; 27-years experience; USA Hockey’s Minnesota District Goalie Coach-in-Chief; Director of Minnesota Hockey's Dave Peterson Advanced Goalie Camp; Goalie coach at
USA Hockey National Girls 15 Development Festival in Rochester, NY; Participant in USA Hockey’s National Symposium on Goaltending; Successfully created first of its kind goalie coaching workshops to help youth hockey coaches learn what they need to do to help develop goalies; In eighth year as assistant coach for nationally ranked Gustavus Adolphus College (MN) women’s hockey team, responsibilities include helping recruit student-athletes and developing the goalies. Conducts goalie clinics/ evaluations for youth hockey associations and for USA Hockey Advanced Festivals, Junior ”A”, high school teams.

Goalie background - Minnesota State High School State Tournament Runner-up team with Edina-East (1977); Edina High School Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee (2005); Named Minnesota State University, Mankato Male Athlete of Century (2000); Minnesota State Mankato Athletic Hall of Fame inductee (1995); Top 10 Finalist for Hobey Baker Award presented to best player in men’s college hockey (1981); Two-time college All-America selection; NCAA Division II National Championship team; MVP of NCAA Division II National Tournament; Two-time Maverick Most Valuable Player; College All-Star Game participant; Free-agent tryout with NHL's Minnesota North Stars.

Jen Hanley TuttleCoaching experience - Outstanding goalie coach; 18-years experience; 14th year on Carroll Goalie School staff; Keynote speaker at goalie coaching workshops; Conducts goalie clinics/evaluations for youth hockey associations; Goalie evaluator for USA Hockey Girls Advanced Festivals; Goalie coach for Burnsville (MN) boys high school hockey tearm;
Six-years head coach of Burnsville (MN) girls high school team.

Goalie background - Girls hockey pioneer; Played boys hockey at Edina High School (MN); Played men’s college hockey at Hamline and St. Thomas;
Member of USA Women’s National Team.

Kevin GalbraithCoaching experience - Talented goalie coach; 17-years experience; 11th year on Carroll Goalie School staff; Keynote speaker at goalie coaching workshops; Conducts goalie clinics/evaluations for youth hockey associations; Goalie evaluator for USA Hockey Advanced Festivals; Has coached college, high school and youth goalies.

Goalie background - Minnesota State High School Tournament participant with Edina; Member of State Championship Team; Played Junior “A” hockey; Still plays goalie today.
