Private Lessons

Steve with three goalies

One-on-one training

The Carroll Goalie School provides private one-on-one training sessions throughout the year. These are ideal for goalies who want a personalized approach to improving their skills and techniques. Training sessions are held during team practices or another ice rental. In 2010-11, we provided one-on-one lessons for goalies in several communities including Eastview, Edina, Mahtomedi, Minneapolis, Orono, St. Michael-Albertville.

Youth hockey association goalie clinics

We provide in-season goalie development programs for several youth hockey associations. Programs are custom-designed to meet the goals and budgets of individual associations. Whether it’s a one-time clinic, or a series of clinics throughout season, our experienced coaches develop goalies of all ages and abilities. We travel to your arena to provide the instruction. In 2010-11, we led goalie development programs for Burnsville, Eagan, Eastview, REV, Sibley Area and Woodbury youth hockey associations.

Game performance evaluations

We provide written evaluations of how goalies perform during game action. Coach from Carroll Goalie School attends a scheduled game to analyze goalie performance. Feedback and suggestions for improvement are provided immediately following the game.

Goalie coaching clinics

We can help youth hockey coaches learn how to work effectively with goalies. Classroom and on-ice demonstration sessions teach coaches the latest goalie drills and techniques so they’re more comfortable and productive working with the goalies on their team.

Goalie tryout evaluations

The Carroll Goalie School provides independent evaluators to observe and rank goalies during the youth hockey tryout process. Our goalie experts provide an objective evaluation of the skills demonstrated and rank the goalies from top to bottom. This insight allows youth coaches and tryout committee members to place goalies at the appropriate levels. Evaluations provided during goalie-only skills sessions and scrimmages.
