Our Coaches
Our dedicated staff of expert coaches make the Carroll Goalie School unique and separates us from other goalie development programs.
The Carroll coaches have more than 60 years of combined experience helping goalies at all levels improve their skills, boost their self-confidence, gain the competitive edge and achieve their hockey-related goals.
Our coaches are passionate about goaltending, have extensive knowledge of the position and work exceptionally well with goalies of all abilities in a personable, positive and professional manner.
We do an excellent job of explaining, demonstrating, and reinforcing the proper movements and essential techniques used by today’s goalies.

Steve Carroll
Coaching experience
- One of Minnesota’s top goalie instructors and leaders in goalie development
- 30+ years goalie coaching experience at college, high school and youth levels
- Currently in 12th year as goalie coach for nationally ranked Gustavus Adolphus College women’s hockey team
- USA Hockey Level 4 Certified Coach
- Frequent speaker on goaltending at USA Hockey Level 4 coaching clinics
- USA Hockey’s Minnesota District Goalie Coach-in-Chief
- Director of Minnesota Hockey’s Dave Peterson Reebok High Performance Goalie Camp
- Goalie coach at USA Hockey National Development Festival in New York
- Conducts goalie clinics/tryout evaluations for youth hockey associations, Minnesota Hockey Reebok High Performance Festivals, high school and Jr. A. teams
- Created and continues to host goalie coaching workshops to help youth hockey coaches learn how to develop goalies
