Coach Carroll's hockey career
Started in goal as Edina won State Peewee “A” Championship in game played at old Met Center in Bloomington.
Helped Edina-East High School defeat Roseau and hockey legend Neal Broten 2-0 in quarterfinal round of 1977 State High School Tournament played at St. Paul Civic Center.
Named tournament MVP as Mankato State University captured 1980 NCAA Division II National Championship. Game televised on ESPN.
Holds eight MSU goaltending records at MSU including most career games (115), most wins (82), most career saves (3,570).
In 1980, invited to training camp with NHL’s Minnesota North Stars.
In 1995, inducted into Mankato State University's Hall of Fame.
In 2000, named Mankato State University's Male Athlete of the Century.
In 2005, first goalie inducted into Edina High School’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
